Spotlight: Progressive last year, with his three wins including two at Ascot (one over C&D); confirmed his affinity for the track with a good fourth in the Wokingham three weeks ago, a race where he was finishing fast up the stands' rail and comfortably beating the others to race on that part of the track; 1lb rise manageable but with the stalls on the stands' side there must be a query over the suitability of stall 1.
Spotlight: Much improved for the addition of a tongue-tie and switch to handicaps, winning a 6f nursery at Yarmouth last September and progressing again this year when third at Sandown before rewarding strong support at Chester (both 5f, good); another step forward when doing best of the low numbers in the Palace Of Holyroodhouse over C&D three weeks ago; 4lb higher but set to go well once more.
Spotlight: Impressed over C&D in April, his first attempt at 5f; ran well at Haydock next time and the ground shouldn't have been an issue when only fifth at Hamilton last time; still possible he's happiest on good to firm though and could yet rate higher at the trip.
Spotlight: Unplaced in two handicap runs for new yard but he wasn't beaten far at Newcastle two weeks ago and he's dropped another 1lb since; should be able to snare the stands' rail; not ruled out.
Spotlight: Fourth in last season's Palace Of Holyroodhouse over C&D and she's rated 2lb lower now; hasn't found her best yet in 2025 but cheekpieces are now added and the stable is in good form; interesting.
Spotlight: Wind surgery in February has had the desired effect and he has won four handicaps this year (two over 7f and two over 6f); 3lb rise for latest small-field success at Epsom demands further progress and although this is a stiff test at the trip, this is his first attempt at 5f; has the advantage of the rail draw though.
Spotlight: Has an excellent record over C&D and she wasn't beaten far in this race 12 months ago; a couple of promising Windsor runs this summer and she looked set to challenge for at least a place at Newcastle two weeks ago, only to find her path blocked in the final furlong (eased immediately); likely to be involved.
Spotlight: Came with a strong late run to win the 3yo Dash on Derby day; got going too late over C&D at the Royal meeting; could still have more to come and this could set up favourably.
Spotlight: Began the year with four 5f wins at Newcastle; beaten twice on turf in the spring but he got back on the up with a last-gasp success in the Gosforth Park Cup back at Newcastle two weeks ago; 4lb rise and return to turf could be enough to find him out.
Spotlight: Best efforts have come on AW or soft turf; penultimate Newcastle second was a fine run but he was well beaten in the Wokingham on his first attempt on good to firm; now drops to 5f for the first time; others appeal more.
Spotlight: Good runs in four of his five starts this year without suggesting he was the answer to this competitive event.
Spotlight: Won the Palace Of Holyroodhouse over C&D in 2023; several good runs for new yard but others bring greater potential.
Spotlight: Ran well over 6f here in May and followed that with a pair of comfortable AW successes; his form dipped at Newbury last time and although he's not short of pace, he has more to prove over 5f.
Spotlight: Ended his losing run when getting up late at Goodwood in May (5f, good); only 1lb higher today but this is competitive and he's been down the field twice since.
Spotlight: Strong traveller who has run well over C&D in the past; in good form this year, winning 5f Class 4 handicaps at Chepstow and Haydock either side of a Lingfield run where she wasn't well positioned; more needed up in class but could be well drawn and she's in the form of her life.
Spotlight: Won twice over 5f (good ground) this spring but he's come up short on his last three runs; would have finished much closer at Thirsk ten days ago had he seen any daylight at a crucial stage but he would still be a surprise winner at this level.
Spotlight: Best known for his Chester exploits but he did win in Bahrain in February; high in the weights now and he was well beaten in the Wokingham three weeks ago; change of headgear not enough to tempt.

Holkham Bay, who can boast strong course form and who arrives on the back of a fine run in the Wokingham, has leading form claims but the stalls are on the stands' side and stall 1 doesn't look a positive, especially with some good pace drawn high. He may still be good enough but there are alternatives and Redorange, Existent, Blue Day and Woolhampton (second choice) all come into the reckoning. WOODHAY WONDER hasn't been at her best this year but she's slipped down the weights, has strong C&D form and could be perked up by the addition of cheekpieces. Her stable's handful of recent runners have been in excellent form too and a revival could be on the cards.[Paul Smith] Show less
