Spotlight: Improving 4yo, winning handicaps at Catterick (7f, good to firm) and Hamilton (6f, good) this summer and runner-up in a competitive event at Hamilton three weeks ago; edging up the weights but he's a strong traveller who can't be ignored in his current form.

Spotlight: Sprung a 40-1 surprise at Windsor last summer but that was followed by a series of dull efforts to end 2024; more consistent this time around, getting off the mark for the year when readily seeing off eight rivals at Newmarket two weeks ago; still has handicapping scope up 4lb.

Spotlight: Decidedly useful at his peak, third in the 2023 Wokingham; disappointing this year, with the start becoming an issue, but there was money about for him at Doncaster last week on his dip into Class 4 company; didn't enjoy the clearest run through on that occasion and he has too much ability to rule out at this level.

Spotlight: This mark is within range and he's well suited by challenging late off a strong pace so this big-field test should suit well; work to do with Sir Garfield on latest Hamilton run but he did end up taking a circuitous route; more appealing than many.

Spotlight: Progressive and lightly raced 4yo; C&D win in April was a fine effort and she was only picked off in the final stride at Chepstow one month later; up in class but could well have more in the tank.

Spotlight: Back to form for new stable when overcoming market weakness in a Class 5 at Thirsk 18 days ago (5f, good to firm); return to 6f no problem but he's up 3lb in a deeper race.

Spotlight: Well handicapped on last year's best form for Jack Channon and he ran an encouraging race at Beverley in May on his second run for Paul Midgley; now 8lb lower than when fourth in the corresponding event 12 months ago; drying ground would suit others more.

Spotlight: Not as good as he was but this C&D winner did see off 18 rivals in a Navan handicap (6f, good) in May; only fourth in a Fairyhouse claimer last time; yard's British runners always worth a second look but likely younger rivals will have his measure.

Spotlight: Two wins and a third from his three turf runs; didn't match that in three AW handicaps last winter but he returns to action off a handy mark; betting useful with the stable also represented by Rock Opera.

Spotlight: Missed out by a nose at Ripon last month (6f, good); 3lb higher in a stronger race but he has been rated much higher in the past; couldn't dismiss.

Spotlight: Won four times in 2024; better record on AW than turf and although latest Newbury fifth wasn't a bad run, he'll need more in a race of this depth.

Spotlight: Won twice last summer (7f, good and 6f, AW) and ended 2024 with two solid placed efforts; goes well fresh but he will need a career best to take this after nine months off.

Spotlight: Now 3lb lower than for his Yarmouth win last October (7f, soft) but that is a result of some modest efforts this year; blinkers didn't help at Windsor 12 days ago (5f, good to firm); others look safer.

Spotlight: Better on AW than turf; handicapped accordingly but neither of his turf starts this season suggest he is the answer to this puzzle.

Spotlight: Well backed when making a successful reappearance at Thirsk in April (6f, good; visored first time); hit and miss since, and probably still a bit too high in the weights for a race of this nature.
