Spotlight: Smart on his day, as when winning last season's Group 2 Temple Stakes at Haydock (5f, soft); low-key reappearance at York but much more like it when fifth of 20 in the Group 1 King Charles III at Ascot (good to firm) last month, keeping on well and doing easily the best of those drawn low (seven of the first eight home came from double-figure stalls); seems to handle most ground and he's a strong contender with this stiff track looking likely to suit.

Spotlight: Three wins, including Listed, in a productive 3yo campaign; more progress this year, second to Rumstar in the Palace House before filling same position in the Group 2 Temple Stakes at Haydock six weeks ago (both 5f, good); raced away from the winner last time and can probably be upgraded; drying ground no problem; of interest, for all that the return of cheekpieces is slightly surprising (running well since blinkers went on).

Spotlight: Two 5f wins as a 2yo, notably a C&D nursery, before coming up short in Listed/conditions races on final two runs in 2024; promising reappearance last month was built on when she powered home to win the Palace of Holyroodhouse Stakes at Royal Ascot (5f, good to firm) 15 days ago; that latest performance smacked of one who could make a mark at Pattern level and she's respected, for all that another step forward is required.

Spotlight: Better than ever when proving too strong for She's Quality in the Group 3 Palace House Stakes at Newmarket on his reappearance; no better than midfield in the Temple and King Charles III since; likely vulnerable trying to give weight away all round.

Spotlight: Won twice in novice company on AW as a 2yo; form took off in Dubai earlier in the year, winning a Group 3 and a Group 2 over 5f; he has struggled in Group 1 races on his last two starts, though, and his 5lb penalty could leave him vulnerable today.

Spotlight: She has made giant strides since making her handicap debut off a mark of 69 at Haydock last July, winning five times, most recently in Listed race at Haydock in May (5f, good); only ninth at Royal Ascot but she raced furthest from the main action and still looked in peak form; drying ground wouldn't be ideal, though, and she has the widest stall to overcome.

Spotlight: Tough and consistent sprinter; solid efforts in Class 2 handicaps on his first two runs this year and just over one length behind Balmoral Lady when third in a Haydock Listed event five weeks ago; should run his race but minor money is perhaps again his best hope.

Spotlight: The winner of three of her four races, the latest a C&D handicap ten weeks ago; not fully exposed but this is a very different test of her credentials.

Spotlight: Clear promise as a 2yo and she didn't need to improve to win a Cork maiden on reappearance (5f, good) in April; took a big step forward with 50-1 success in Listed event at Ayr two weeks ago (5f, good; cheekpieces on for the first time); has to prove that wasn't a flash in the pan.

Spotlight: He was having his first run for 773 days when last of 20 in the King Charles III at Royal Ascot 18 days ago; that should have blown away any cobwebs but a leap of faith is required to support him this time.

Spotlight: Tough sprinter who has been performing with credit in good handicaps this year; only fourth when dropped back to 5f at Windsor last month, though, and he'll need a big personal best to feature in this exalted company.
