Spotlight: Was threatening to go backwards after his successful debut but, after a gelding operation, he got himself firmly back on track when a staying-on second at Redcar (1m2f handicap; good to firm; held up); nudged up 4lb but the front two were clear; much respected.

Spotlight: Ran encouragingly without genuinely threatening in three qualifying runs at 1m but this Frankel half-brother to Arc heroine Bluestocking was strong in the betting for all of those and may yet do appreciably better; brings significant potential into handicaps now sent over further.

Spotlight: Questionable what he achieved when chasing home a long odds-on favourite (who was making it 2-2) at Windsor (1m2f, good) but appears to be coming along and the potential is there to advance this initial mark; any market confidence would further heighten interest.

Spotlight: Huge odds in his qualifying races and ran accordingly; odds of 5-1 and 6-5 for his two handicaps but, although more competitive, he wasn't that threatening; the hood tried last time is replaced by a tongue-tie; 3lb out of the handicap today; needs more and a 7lb claimer takes over.

Spotlight: Clearly underestimated by the handicapper when showing a willing attitude at Yarmouth (1m2f, good to firm) in late April; he's in a lot deeper here and off a 7lb higher mark, so has to step up again; that's perfectly feasible, however.

Spotlight: Went up 12lb for winning two Class 5s over 1m2f (good to firm/good to soft) but confirmed himself progressive with a second over C&D 22 days ago; however, the winner had his measure with a degree of comfort and this might take even more winning.

Spotlight: Had 16 races (won three) and others might be on better terms with the handicapper, but he didn't enjoy the clearest of passages when second of six in a 1m4f handicap at Newmarket most recently; solid form claims and considered each-way.

Spotlight: Last season's defeats were on soft ground and it was a different story when making a winning return in a Nottingham maiden (1m, good); however, that form has taken some knocks and this is a tough start in handicaps.

Spotlight: Beaten 6l in her only previous handicap in May (1m); a bit better since then in a 1m1f maiden and 1m2f novice, without suggesting she'll prove the answer to this.

Spotlight: 0-6; ran well to be fourth on handicap debut over C&D in April but hard to draw upon too many positives since then, including on return to this track last time when well behind Antelope; cheekpieces are now turned to.

Spotlight: Suffered a near miss on handicap debut at Kempton (7f) but has finished a well-held sixth in two runs since being gelded and this could be tougher again; what might help is now going beyond 1m, being a son of Ulysses.

Spotlight: Although a nine-race maiden, he had no luck when second at Goodwood (1m2f, good) and making up ground from off the pace at Windsor (extended 1m3f) is never the wisest idea, especially in a steadily run race; not entirely dismissed.
